Helping Out with Action Nouvelle Vie

I recently heard about a wonderful volunteer-driven event called Action Nouvelle Vie. Every Christmas, they invite families in need to come over and receive about a month’s worth of groceries for free! When I decided to tag along as a volunteer and photographer with some of the local union TCA 510‘s Youth Committee, I had no idea that this event would be quite so large! There were Christmas tunes blaring, mascots entertaining the kids and a most cheerful bustle of volunteers guiding people along and filling their grocery baskets just in time for Christmas. During the day, over in our corner, we helped bag heaps of bread buns and loaves into family-sized portions, replenished stock, handed out all manner of food items and much more. Have a look at some of the highlights of the day. If you’re in town, come out and volunteer next year!
